INTERVIEW:
1-Name,Age?
Sebastian Samuel Lee Slovin. I am 19 years old
2-Favorite Spots/Local Breaks?
Off the wall is probably my favorite spot. However I enjoy my local spots
which
are Seaside Reef and
Blacks beach.
3-Any Recent Trips?
I just recently got back from Mexico. Before that it was the great island
of Oahu
I was there for the month
of January. Prior to that
I went to Northern Chile. I also went to Disneyland in between there somewhere.
4-Favorite Music?
As far as music goes I would have to say that Tool is my favorite band.
I also really enjoy the Beatles, Rage Against the Machine, the Cranberries,
Red Hot Chili Peppers, and At the Drive In.
5-What inspires you right now?
What inspires me right now is my mother, Erin, Maynard, Danny Carrey,
lil Todd!, Matt Lampkin, Zack de la Rocha, Paul Roach, and my father.
I am inspired by alot of things and people they give me the power that
I need to get on top.
6-Other sponsors?
Kanvas by Katin,
L.O.C.
7-Where is bodyboarding headed?
In the future I think there will be more air spins like backflips but
landing forward. But there needs to be more speed to do that sort of thing
if you know what Imean. Like I said before I would love to see more power
in the future of dropknee.
8-What's Your Take On The Progression Of Maneuvers?
As far as dropknee goes I am kind of disapointed
with the progression recently. I get frustrated when I see people blowing
good sections
by trying to do dropknee
roles every wave. I am definitly not against dk air
moves I just dont like how roles look and it seems like thats all anyone
is
trying to do. I would much rather see more power than anything else.
9-When and why did you start bodyboarding?
When I moved back to San Diego all of my friends were doing it. I guess
it was peer pressure, that and I have been in and around the ocean all
my life. The bodyboarder who has made the greatest influence on me is
Paul Roach. I remember watching him when I was 12 years old. Since then
I knew
what I wanted to do.
10-What do you do outside bodyboarding?
When the waves are flat I do alot of things. I train for boxing, I do
yoga and swim. I will find someway to challenge myself physically when
I am not surfing. I also hang out with my girlfriend.
11-If you won a million dollars, would you invest
any of that into bodyboarding?
Yes I would definatley use the money for bodyboarding. I would use it
probably entirly on travel.
12-.Favorite Quote Or Final Comment?
My Dad was my greatest inspiration of all, thank you.
